Hotel Receives Premier Status

The four star Best Western Mount Pleasant Hotel in Doncaster is pleased to announce its addition to the groups ‘Premier’ portfolio. With only two hotels achieving this status outside of London, the hotel now proudly holds the title as Yorkshire’s only ‘Premier’ hotel.

Now known as the Best Western Premier Mount Pleasant Hotel, this property has been in the McIlroy family for 71 years and had three generations of ownership. With a total of 56 bedrooms, the hotel boasts mud beds, sleigh beds, four and even five posters.

The Premier status is the highest accolade to be achieved from the Best Western group – with only a further five hotels making it past the stringent assessments.

David Clarke, Chief Executive, Best Western Hotels said: “The Best Western Premier Mount Pleasant Hotel has achieved the highest of standards with excellent facilities, spectacular rooms and personal customer service and we are delighted to be welcoming the hotel into our Premier collection.”

Refurbishments included a half a million pound reception and lounge area, a selection of upgraded bedrooms and expansion of their leisure facilities with beauty treatments. They have also established close links with a local gym, golf at a nearby club and horse riding.

Richard McIlroy, Managing Director and owner, commented, ”We have been aiming for Premier status at the hotel for a while now and through our dedication to investment in our facilities and services, attention to detail in our renovations and sheer hard work at the hotel we are pleased to be displaying the Premier plaque outside the hotel.”
