Doncaster District is a Tier 2 Assisted Area which means that funding towards fixed capital costs is available for qualifying projects under the Grant for Business Investment scheme (until recently, known as Selective Finance for Investment scheme.)

To qualify, projects must be manufacturing or service industry businesses that supply national and not local markets. Grants are intended to support innovative or productivity increasing investments.

Typically grants have been 10-15% of eligible capital expenditure but support can vary widely depending on the need and quality of the project. Plus within Doncaster it can go up to 25% of eligible capital expenditure.
