Airport Parking Praised Again
Travellers parking at Doncaster Sheffield Airport will be pleased to learn that the facilities have been praised once again by the South Yorkshire Police’s Safer Parking Scheme.
Chief Superintendent Innes visited the airport to present the team with their Safer Parking Award which they have managed to achieve every year since the airport opened.
The Safer Parking Scheme was set up by the Association of Chief Police Officers to reduce crime and the fear of crime in parking areas and the Park Mark Safer Parking Award is granted to parking areas that have passed the risk assessment carried out by police officers.
Being awarded the Park Mark means that the airport has put in place measures which help to deter criminal activity. The airport provides a safe and secure environment, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, covering all 400 spaces. In addition to an extensive CCTV system, the car park is fitted with state of the art Automatic Number Plate Recognition barrier control equipment.
Lorraine Daffern, Head of Terminal Services and Security at Doncaster Sheffield Airport said: “We are really pleased to have been award the Park Mark sign again. Your car is probably one of your most valued possessions, and our customers want the assurance of parking in a safe, secure on-airport environment. Rather than worrying about it being driven by a stranger and parked in an unknown location whilst you’re away whilst you’re on holiday.
“We work hard to ensure that our facilities are safe and secure and our team are really pleased that the police inspection has shown this to be the case. We are proud of this stamp of approval.”
The airport also recently introduced a Best Price Guarantee for bookings made directly via robinhoodairport.com; promoting the fact its car parking products wouldn’t be found cheaper elsewhere.
