ACS UK Ltd Selected as a finalist for Business Excellence Awards

Doncaster business ACS UK Ltd, a local IT Solutions Company, has been selected as a finalist for the Contribution to the Community (Commercial Sector) through Goole and Howdenshire Business Excellence Awards.

The award honors extraordinary contributions in our community and is sponsored by Associated British Ports.

During the last three years ACS UK Ltd has taken part in a number of activities and courses to help develop student’s enterprise and business skills. ACS, later became even more involved with the community by partnering with ‘Doncaster Enterprise for Learning’ (DE4L) two years ago - Becoming a true ambassador for the local-education sector.

Throughout August 2010 and March 2011 ACS UK Ltd was Vice-Chair of the ‘DE4L Skills Action Group’, in which they played an active role in making sure that local employer’s were involved in student-development.

DE4L was developed by a consortium of seven organizations (partners). The programs main objectives were to enable collaborations between schools and businesses. With a track record in supporting enterprise related learning across Doncaster, DE4L offered a planned and co-ordinated approach to Doncaster schools and businesses, supporting them in understanding and implementing mainstream enterprise learning in schools and business objectives.

Throughout the DE4L project ACS has worked with over 11,000 students and 200 teachers.

To try and help improve business and enterprise skills in Doncaster schools and it’s always nice to be recognised. Even through the DE4L project ended in March we feel the work that we did made a large impact in the local education sector and the community as a whole”.
