BLP’s Deal of the Year
BLP’s MBO deal has won the ‘Deal of the Year’ at the Annual Yorkshire Business Awards 2009.
Bridie Warner- Adsetts and Andrew Thorpe completed the management buyout of the Profiles and Doors business of BLP UK, buying the business out of administration in February 2009.
BLP, based in Kirk Sandall, is the UK’s largest manufacturer of furniture components and is 100 years old. Warner- Adsetts, managing director of the BLP Furniture Components Limited, as it is now called, said the deal secured the jobs of 100 workers in Doncaster.
Several organisations were involved in the process and were instrumental in achieving this great success. This included Invest in Doncaster who supported BLP throughout the deal and has established an excellent ongoing working relationship.
Having now won this award just shows what hard work all parties put into the process and what a difference can be made with the help, support and initiative shown by all involved.
