Polypipe Achieves Top Rating From The Carbon Trust Standard

Polypipes’ dedication and hard work to conserve energy has been richly rewarded with the award of the coveted Carbon Trust Standard. Valid for two years, the Carbon Trust Standard confirms that Polypipe Building Products has significantly reduced its carbon footprint over the past three years, demonstrating the company’s commitment to green manufacturing.

Believed to be the only plastic piping company in the UK to achieve such a status, Polypipe Building Products is at the forefront of tackling climate change, and according to company spokesman Norman Gray, the hard work in achieving its current position has been justly recognised.

“To qualify for the standard, we underwent strict and rigorous assessments in every area of our business,” he says. “The Carbon Trust Standard Company analysed our energy management systems and fossil fuel usage for six weeks and we made the grade.”

The award of the Carbon Trust Standard places Polypipe Building Products in an excellent position in the carbon emission league tables of green manufacturers and elevates the company over its competitors. “We are committed to saving and conserving energy wherever we can,” continues Norman, “Furthermore, we are now working towards achieving level two of the Carbon Trust Standard which will further reinforce the superior energy management which we maintain throughout the entire Polypipe operation.”
