Doncaster boasts a buoyant retail sector and excellent leisure facilities. Steeped in ancient history, the Borough also offers a mix of wonderful heritage sites, unspoilt countryside and nearby picturesque market towns and villages, proving to be an excellent location to work and live.
There is so much to include within Doncaster Tourism with many amazing developments taking place and leisure activities to enjoy. Two thirds of the town is actually rural giving the people of Doncaster picturesque countryside as well as the working and shopping aspects. The town centre is packed with history and character, plus has many fantastic architectural specimens.
The Frenchgate Centre and Transport Interchange has been a great success and is one of the largest town centre shopping centres in the country, with over 1.4million shoppers and passengers each month. Plus there is the added bonus of one of Britain’s finest traditional markets.
Doncaster also has its historical side with Consibrough Castle, the oldest such keep in England (1180s), Brodsworth Hall and enchanted gardens and Cusworth Hall (museum of South Yorkshire life) and parkland.
Yorkshire Wildlife Park is one of the newest additions to Doncaster’s leisure calendar, with the UK’s first walk through safari park.
